What Vietnam Really Looks Like

Ha Noi's wholesale flower market at midnight

This is an odd one. It's a wholesale flower market that is only open from 10 pm to 4 am. Apparently anybody can shop there, so if you really screwed up and need a thousand roses, here is the place to start looking.

Allison is on her scooter driving through the market. Which is apparently a normal thing to do. The drivers who don't sleep are loading up for stores around Ha Noi.

Flowers basically jump out of the ground in Vietnam, and the flower industry is huge, both domestically and internationally. If you get here just before the Tet holiday, be prepared to see scooters with fairly mature kumquat trees strapped to the back. But even outside of Tet, almost every grocery store will have flowers for sale.
